Getting started
If you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or like something in your life isn't working — therapy can help. You don't need to be in crisis to benefit. Many people come to therapy simply wanting to understand themselves better or make meaningful changes.
The free 15-minute consultation is a low-pressure conversation. We'll briefly discuss what's bringing you to therapy, what you're hoping to get out of it, and I'll answer any questions you have. It's also a chance for you to get a feel for my style and see if we're a good fit.
It depends on your goals and what you're working through. Some people see significant shifts in 8–12 sessions; others benefit from longer-term support. We'll regularly check in on your progress and adjust accordingly.
About EMDR
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy that helps the brain process traumatic or distressing memories. Using bilateral stimulation (such as guided eye movements or tapping), EMDR activates the brain's natural information-processing system, allowing memories to be stored in a less distressing way.
No — while EMDR was originally developed for PTSD, it's now widely used for anxiety, depression, phobias, grief, performance issues, and more. If you have distressing memories or beliefs that feel stuck, EMDR may be helpful.
Not necessarily. One of the advantages of EMDR is that you don't need to narrate every detail of a traumatic event for healing to occur. We'll work at a pace that feels safe for you.
Telehealth
Sessions are conducted via secure, HIPAA-compliant video. You'll receive a link before each appointment. All you need is a private space, a device with a camera and microphone, and a stable internet connection.
I am licensed to provide therapy in Virginia and Florida. If you're located in another state, I'm unable to see you at this time, but I'm happy to help you find a referral.
Yes. Research supports the effectiveness of telehealth EMDR. I use specialized tools to deliver bilateral stimulation remotely, and many clients find the comfort of their own environment actually enhances the process.

The easiest way is to check directly on my Headway profile — visit care.headway.co/providers/jennifer-lemich and enter your insurance information. Headway will confirm your coverage and estimated costs before you book. If you have questions, you're also welcome to bring them up during the free consultation.
Private pay fees are discussed during the free 15-minute consultation. I believe in transparency around cost and want to make sure you have all the information you need before committing to anything.
A sliding scale is not available at this time. If cost is a concern, I encourage you to check your insurance coverage through my Headway profile — many clients find their out-of-pocket costs are lower than expected once insurance is applied.
